Note: I've only tested this on OS X version 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Accumulating all my contacts from Google Apps at the office, Gmail at home, my outgoing Nokia N95, Facebook and my Mac OS address book using a kludge of Mobile Me, iSync, Facebook for iPhone and csv files exported from Gmail and Google Apps left me with an address book full of duplicate entries... many without telephone numbers which I didn't need on my phone.
After removing the dupes using the built in "Look for duplicates..." in the OS X address book I needed to remove the entries without telephone numbers. Most of these came from syncing with facebook.

1. Create a new Smart Group.

2. Call it "No Number" or something appropriate.

3. Create the following rules - all of which must be true ie. select matches "all".
4. Delete any contacts which do not contain a telephone number.
